As the Chronicle goes to press a small group from the Band will be enjoying the bluebells in Swithland Wood. They will be playing for the annual Bluebell Service. They will then be supporting and encouraging the Youth Band in a Summer Concert at St Wilfred’s Church, Kibworth on Saturday 17 June at 2.30pm.

Last month Tim Cole, director of Edmonds & Slatter Opticians, celebrated 20 years as part of the Leicestershire based independent opticians. Tim Cole was presented with a golden bottle of champagne by co-director Saagar Hirani for his 20 years as part of the company. It also co-incidentally marks 40 years within the optical industry.

Kibworth Art Lovers Society - May '23

At our April meeting, Kibworth Art Lovers were treated to an inspiring demonstration of line and wash painting by Tim Fisher. Tim, a leading artist, author and art tutor, has been a professional artist since 2000 and has won numerous awards.  He is a great believer in keeping a sketchbook “both as a means of recording fleeting elements within (his) surroundings and as a device that can be used to develop further artwork” much of which features ink drawing.

Illston on the Hill WI - May 2023

Illston on the Hill WI welcomed Margaret Hudson to entertain us at our April meeting. Margaret was formerly a Tiller Girl. If you don’t know about Tiller Girls ask your Mum or Granny. Margaret is in her 90s and she arrived as if she were a 50 year old. She looked a million dollars dressed in a fabulous sequinned emerald green jacket and she moved so beautifully.
