Kibworth Theatre Company is pleased to announce that their AGM will take place on Friday 16 July. There will be a barbecue straight after the meeting.  If anyone would like to attend, please contact Martyn at m_wyburn@yahoo.com for further details.

The W.I. is still associated in many peoples’ minds with, ‘ jam, cakes and Jerusalem!’ These may be an enjoyable part of most of our meetings, but there is so much more to us. In addition to our meetings, with a variety of speakers and activities, the W.I. is a campaigning force.

Rotarians and members Graham Thompson and John Addison are planning a fundraising challenge in memory of past members Nick Lacey and Rod Mitchell, who sadly passed away within 24 hours of each other at Loros Hospice last October.
They propose to play golf for 12 hours on Thursday 27th May, starting at 8am, 12pm and 4pm, to raise funds for the hospice, which has lost a huge amount of income during the lockdown due to cancellation of fundraising events.

 As lockdown restrictions ease, we’ll be organising our famous club rides from 29th March. As a social cycling club we'll be adhering to the 'rule of six' (British Cycling-affiliated clubs can do groups of 15) and Government guidelines - watch on our Facebook page for dates and times of rides. We're looking forward to getting back together again!

After nearly three months of being in lockdown, Kibworth Tennis Club is open again.Tennis was able to start again on 29 March. A lot has been happening since the restart.

Every year Kibworth Bowling Club supports a local Charity via our Club President. This year our President is The Rev Alan Pyke, his nominated Charity is Admiral Nurses.The charity works alongside people with dementia, and their families, giving one-to-one support and expert guidance. Here at the Bowling Club we hope to raise enough money to enable an Admiral Nurse to operate in the Kibworth/Harborough area.

We are pleased to announced that the ECB All Stars and Dynamos Cricket courses are open for entrants. We are proud to be able to provide these courses.

As our name suggests we are the “go to” Ramblers group for the City of Leicester and its outlying conurbations radiating out to maybe a dozen miles from the centre.

The league season for seniors and juniors is upon us and we have just held our first friendlies in the April snow. It was so cold, but much relief to finally be out and playing cricket.

A year after our Kibworth and Smeeton WI members’ meeting in early March 2020 - just before the first lockdown - we held a meeting on Zoom. Some members had been taking part in online activities organised by the National Federation of Women’s Institutes. But, for many this would be their first meeting. A chance then to see and speak to their W.I. friends, albeit on a computer screen. The committee was looking for something light-hearted and fun. They chose Steve Price, with his, “Virtually Impossible Magic Tricks and Illusions.”

We, as live theatre, may be glimpsing a tiny light at the end of a very long tunnel. We hope it won’t be long before we’re able to start preparations for ‘treading the boards’ again!  In the meantime, just a few recollections of some unintended humorous Last Minute Theatre moments of the past 21 years.

Club members have been involved in several events throughout the opening weeks of 2021. We are looking forward to running in smaller groups as Lockdown conditions ease.
