We have been so happy to open our doors at the start of December, both in the café for takeaways and in the charity shop. The atmosphere has been cosy and welcoming and it has been lovely to welcome back old friends whilst meeting some new.

Hungry Hedgehogs

Despite everything that the year has thrown at the country, this fundraising event went ahead on September. It proved ever popular raising an unexpected amount of money.

I write this to give overdue and public recognition to a member of Kibworth village, who has made a significant contribution to the well-being of our local community over many years, indeed decades!

The Market Harborough Group of Macmillan Cancer Support was delighted when an INFOPOINT was installed in the Home Instead premises in St Mary's Road, Market Harborough. Information can be accessed without people having to travel to the LRI. 

I would like to say an enormous Thank You to all those who have contributed to my Just Giving fund to provide toys for children from families who are struggling this Christmas.

Eighteen residents in Mowsley decided that despite Covid-19 they would go ahead and decorate their windows to celebrate Christmas.

2020 has been a full year for The Well. Our charity has grown both in terms of its physical footprint on the High Street and in vision and capacity for helping those most in need in our village and surrounding villages.

We lose one of our key workers on 27 November. Qyan Arnachellum is leaving after 18 enjoyable months in the role of Volunteer Coordinator. The role involves recruiting, training and developing existing and new volunteers to work in the charity’s shop and café.

This has been a hard year for many people and there are families in the local area that are struggling. 

Kerry Turnbull, VASL (Voluntary Action South Leicestershire) Support for Carers Service Manager, is very pleased to announce that a Carers Passport has been launched across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

We are a charity  supporting St Wilfrid’s Church. Maintaining, preserving and restoring our 13th century church is a never ending task.

The Rotary Club of Kibworth and Fleckney, like so many other charitable organisations, has a real challenge to raise funds this year, when all our normal fund-raising activities have been curtailed, due to COVID.

To all the Mowsley villagers and friends who came to our Macmillan Coffee Morning. It was certainly a bit different this year with all the sanitizings and social distancing etc.
