The sun shone and the bells rang out on Saturday 25 May, for Emma Formoy and Joe Walsh, who were married in a service conducted by Rev. Ludger Fremmer. Ludger spoke of the challenges Emma and Joe would face together and the love and support they would give each other. Guests included family and friends from all around the UK, the US, Australia and France.

Lunch Stop says goodbye to Julia White and Michael Pearce after 20 years of volunteering. The cafe is open most Thursdays from 12 to 2pm (orders before 1pm) for reasonably priced lunches at St Wilfrid’s Church Hall.

Sam Pole represented Leicestershire & Rutland in The Flower Scar Fell Race. A competitive field tackled eight miles and 2,000ft of climbing. The Team held their own to finish 13th out of 20 teams, and Sam finished 77th overall.

July - Richard Darke Achievement Awards at three local primary schools and the Kibworth High School. Dictionaries were presented to all leavers at the primary schools.

Our Year 3 and 4 children had a fantastic trip to Castleton just before the Easter holidays (see front page photograph). The activities organised by the Youth Hostel staff were great and really enhanced what the children had been learning in school. The behaviour of the children was admired by all. At our next Achievement Assembly on Friday 24 May the children will be talking all about it.
