Watching and feeding wild birds is a greatly rewarding and enjoyable activity; not least during these unprecedented times where spending time closer to nature can be a great help to our mental well-being. Feeding the wildlife in your garden can bring so much joy. Providing food for the birds in autumn and winter is critical for them as natural food becomes scarce.

Kibworth Velo Club update

The Kibworth Velo Club continues to thrive in these unprecedented times! Until early November we were able to do socially-distanced Group Rides of 6 people; our regular Sunday club runs go to lovely cafes for coffee & cake (or bacon rolls). We also continued our Thursday evening rides; night rides are fun and we enjoy a social catch up at the Clubhouse (Boboli) over a beer and pizza from the lovely Sarah Poli. Since lockdown restarted, we are restricted to riding in pairs - we ride the same routes but 10 mins apart. The weather has been kind but the roads are very wet and muddy meaning our bike cleaning skills have been put to good use!

Leicestershires Link To The Cunard Pedigree

A few years ago my brother purchased a piece of local history on e-bay that records a time when the famous Cunard family resided here in the county. It was a page from the ‘Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News’, dated November 22nd 1884, under the heading ‘Hunting Centres – Sir Bache Cunard’s Hounds’.
