Following a consultation, Leicestershire County Council has updated its plan for the county to reach net zero by 2045 after almost 1,400 people had their say on the draft this summer.
On Tuesday 4 August 1863 an annual summer meeting of the Architectural and Archaeological Society took place in Kibworth. Edward Levien Esq. from the British Museum read notes on the Manors of Kibworth Beauchamp and Kibworth Harcourt. He briefly touched on the subject of the chancel, nave, aisles and porches of St. Wilfrid’s Church. He then said that there remained the subject of the old tower and spire. Edward Levien went on to say that the tower was being repaired and whilst workmen were at breakfast the tower fell down on Saturday 23 July 1825. He stated that very little damage was done to the rest of the church and thankfully no lives were lost. After this lamentable catastrophe steps were immediately taken to re-build the tower and spire.
KGSH are proud to be hosting the new Welcome Kitchen in Kibworth. Unfortunately, due to the current financial climate we are not able to offer our facilities for free. We have to balance the books too, however, we will be offering one of the sessions for free.
After Remembrance Sunday when members of the Band will be present for the parade, short service and Act of Remembrance, our thoughts will be on the LBBA Contest and, dare I say it, Christmas.
Following months of hard work, planning, preparation and rehearsals, Saturday 29 October was certainly a night to remember. Supported by their wonderful family and friends, Kibworth Ladies Choir sang their hearts out whilst telling the story of how the choir has evolved over the past ten years.

I understand that, especially given current pressures, the cost of funding independent education may seem out of reach for many parents. However, many independent schools, including LHS, provide funding support for potential families which can help to bridge the gap. Last year alone, ISC independent schools provided £464 million in means-tested bursaries and scholarships, demonstrating schools’ commitment to helping children of all backgrounds thrive during their time in education.
Yes.I remember Adlestrop - The name, because one afternoon Of heat the express train drew up there Unwontedly. It was late June. The steam hissed. Someone cleared his throat. No one left and no one came On the bare platform. What I saw Was Adlestrop - only the name And willows, willow herb, and grass, And meadowsweet and haycocks dry, No whit less still and lonely fair Than the high cloudlets in the sky. And for that minute a blackbird sang Close by, and round him, mistier, Farther and Farther, all the birds Of Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire.
On 13 October our mouths watered in anticipation of Gail Wooliscroft’s demonstration of ‘Decadent Dessert’. The first was Waffle Berry Pudding, with waffles purchased at the supermarket bakery section, because frozen ones are usually made with potato, not good combined with fruit, custard and cream!
