We were pleased to welcome some visitors and two new members to our first face-to-face meeting on 9 September. With sensible precautions in place, members were able to relax and enjoy the evening. Our speaker was Ian Robertson, who entertained us with ‘Smile please, Say Cheese.’ He told us many interesting facts about cheese, with amusing jokes thrown in for good measure. Ian said that he was having trouble with some cheeses in the warm weather. Cheese is a living thing and he said that at the moment it was living like mad! The Brie was practically melting! (Actually, for my taste it was perfect!)

Local Youth Projects are very excited to announce a new youth club for the younger people of Fleckney. 11 to 16 year olds can come along to the Baptist Church Hall on Main Street, Fleckney. The club will run on Wednesday evenings, during term time, from 7pm to 8.15pm.

The Band are now back to full rehearsals, whilst continuing to take Covid precautions, and are looking forward to gradually returning to normal, realistically, though, it will be some months before any indoor performances are possible.

Hoorah, at long last andwith a couple of false starts, the relaxation of rules means that the Choir can now look forward to singing together again. Resilience ought to be our middle name as we’ve used Zoom and even the Foxton Recreation ground to try to continue singing through this difficult period, so it’s great to announce that the Choir will start rehearsing again in the Church from October.
