Market Harborough’s very own orchestra, is preparing to give its 22^nd concert under the baton of Stephen Bell on Saturday 29 January at 7.30pm at the Methodist Church, Northampton Road, Market Harborough.

The Band is delighted to say that their Christmas Concert is on! Due to the uncertainties of the last few months, we have decided that this event will be free. The need to take care, adhere to Covid regulations and limit numbers does, however, mean that a ticket will be needed. The Spinners have welcomed new members. These are social (non-league) players of all abilities and ages from 15 to 68, and league players. Our teams have enjoyed great success from teens to the oldest players who are in their 70s.

Our Tai Chi group is growing with beginners joining us every few weeks. We are enjoying learning and practising routines á la Paul Lam for arthritis, diabetes and to boost our immunity.

Illston on the Hill WI welcomed Faye from The Body Shop for our November meeting. Poor Faye was just getting over a migraine but she was brilliant. We learnt a great deal about Anita Roddick and the formation of the Body Shop. This included how they have moved with the times and gone ahead with their ‘green’ packaging and recycled bottles. It was most interesting. She brought lots of samples and lots of sales items. It proved to be a very busy shop! Faye had the most wonderful sense of humour and entertained us one and all.

Thank you to all those who came to our Christmas Concert on Sunday 12 December. It's safe to say it was a huge success and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone! We would also like to thank those of you who donated items for the raffle and all those who volunteered on the night. With your support, we were able to donate some of the proceeds from the evening to our chosen charities - Kibworth Creatives Choir and Gems Charity.

After the Autumn Marathon and Half Marathon season we’ve had a much quieter month for races and events. It’s now time for the mud lovers to get involved with the Derby Runner Cross Country League underway.
