A team of crafty volunteers have been involved in a unique charity appeal. They are creating the ‘Harborough Crochet Christmas Tree’ from hundreds of crocheted ‘granny squares’ made by local people.

Dr Tim Gray treated Kibworth & District u3a members to a fascinating talk at the November Third Tuesday Social.

Local Smeeton Westerby resident Bob Capell had an idea before the first locked down to collect old car batteries to weigh them in for cash for GEMS Charity. Eighteen months later this came to fruition. Andy from GEMS and Bob packed up Bob’s truck and went to a scrap metal dealer in Market Harborough unloaded. They unloaded the truck and were presented with a check for £328.48, what a fantastic amount well done and thanks Bob.

Leicestershire Wildlife Hospital will be holding three events in November and one in December in the Kibworth Village Hall. 15 Station Street LE8 0LN.

The clocks have gone back, the nights are drawing in and the first signs of Christmas are appearing in the shops.

We finally managed to hold the first meeting of the New Normal Cancer Support Group. It was lovely to see everyone.

The Market Harborough Group of Macmillan Cancer Support is delighted that they can now re-launch the INFOPOINT that is sited at the Home Instead premises in Market Harborough.

At 4.30am on Friday 8 October, fire fighters from Kibworth Fire and Rescue Station, set off from the fire station for Mount Snowdon. Taking their full fire kit along with them.

GEMS Charity is proud to announce the charity’s founder Sally Anderson has won the Pride of Britain regional final and is invited to the national final awards dinner where she will be one of the guests of honour.

On Friday 1 October, we held a coffee morning in The Well café in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and raised £250! 

The Rotary Club are holding their Bonfire and Firework Spectacular on Saturday 6 November in the field opposite the top of New Road, Kibworth. 

The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the next best time is now.
