Our District Churches No.6 - St Michael and All Angels, Illston-on-the-Hill

19th September 2022 | Churches

This series of looking at churches in the Chronicle distribution area started by visiting the magnificent, the cream of architecture style, St John the Baptist church at Kings Norton. Almost in the shadow of that church is St Michael and All Angels at Illston-on-the-Hill. This is a name Stoker found on a headstone in the churchyard. Swales had died in 1751.

Affected by her unfortunate early life, Marilyn was constantly trying to improve herself. She never felt that she was beautiful, or particularly good enough. Paradoxically, when working as a model, and later in the film industry, she was constantly exploited for her looks.
