The Club will hold its first meeting of 2023 on Thursday 12 January at 2.30pm (doors open 2.15pm) in the Methodist Chapel Hall. It will consist of the Annual General Meeting, a short slide show of the three 2022 trips and the annual show, followed by a talk by Gary Little, ‘A Taste of the Exotic’.

If you’d like to have a go at this all-weather indoor sport, the Fleckney Spinners Table Tennis Club has weekly sessions on Saturdays 11.15am to 12.45pm with (optional) coaching on 17 December and 7 and 21 January.

We started this series of looking at the churches in the Kibworth & District Chronicle delivery area (last January) with what is arguably the best church in our district, St John the Baptist at Kings Norton.  However, just a couple of miles away is its sister church in Gaulby.

On Saturday 19 November Leicester and District Ramblers held their AGM at Newtown Linford, this occasion was all the more auspicious as several key committee members were standing down!

Illston on the Hill WI had their AGM in November.

If you look up the word ‘myth’ one definition you’ll almost certainly come across is, ‘widely held but false belief or idea’. Another common definition is that myths offer explanations of otherwise mysterious natural events, often ascribed to supernatural beings. Many feel that in our modern rational and technological age such stories are obsolete and of no relevance, belonging as they do to traditional cultures of the past.

Well, 2022 has whizzed past! I would like to thank you all for your continued support throughout the year. It really is a privilege to help so many of you improve your physical health.
