Despite yet another challenging year, the National Garden Scheme donated over £3.11 million to important cancer and nursing charities. Support for these charities is crucial and your visits to our gardens throughout the year are so very important to generate these vital funds. Thank you so much for your support in 2022 and I hope we will see more of you during 2023. 

The Schools Prayer Network (SPN) began when Michael Philip, a peripatetic music teacher, saw the power of prayer in school first hand. After experiencing vandalism at a school, one of the children in the Christian Union decided to pray about it. The vandalism stopped almost straight away. Michael felt that if prayer had this effect in one school, it could have similar effects in other schools. 

Christmas is traditionally a time of giving and Edmonds & Slatter opticians have been focusing their winter fundraising efforts on their current charity of the year Menphys.

2023 is the 664th anniversary of a charter involving Robert Chapman of Kibworth Harcourt and Roger de Stanesby of Smeeton Westerby which is highly relevant to dating one of England’s oldest schools at Kibworth Beauchamp.

Time is running out to get free Woodland Trust trees for your school or community group in the East Midlands!

St Wilfrid’s Church Hall is now registered as a Warm Welcome Space. It will be open every Thursday from 1-3pm for free drinks, biscuits and some company. 

The last monthly public meeting of 2022 was held on 1 December in the Studio at Kibworth Grammar School Hall. Cllr. Feltham reported that HDC Planning Enforcement Team were making investigations into the possible use of 2 Harborough Road for a commercial business lacking relevant planning permission.
