It has been an action packed term of sport at Kibworth Mead Academy. Mr Hill settled in as the new Head of PE, a virtually all new PE department inspired a new dawn of sporting success and participation.

Traditionally Christmas is a time to reflect on the year past and look to the future.
There have been many changes throughout the year too numerous to mention but we have still enjoyed a fabulous year and many thanks go to our team of green keepers who have done a sterling job keeping the course in pristine condition during the summer heatwave and more recently the extreme rainfall.
If you’d like to have a go at this all-weather indoor sport, the Fleckney Spinners Table Tennis Club has weekly sessions on Saturdays 11.15am to 12.45pm with (optional) coaching on 17 December and 7 and 21 January.

Local primary school teacher Harriet Evans, enjoyed a very successful night at Welland Valley Cycling club’s annual awards event. This was held at Kibworth Cricket Club.

On a Saturday afternoon at the club we are running Mini/Junior Team Tennis Events for children between the ages of 6 to 18. The aim is to give as many children as possible, who attend the weekly tennis coaching sessions, the opportunity to put their coaching into practice by playing both singles and doubles matches against other children from the club who are of a similar standard. One photo shows children who took part in a “normal” Team Tennis event and the other one shows some of the children who took part in the Halloween Team Tennis Event.

Our club goes from strength to strength. Last year we had four teams in the Leicester League, and this year we have five, with several people trying their hand at League play for the first time. All are welcome to join our club, whether playing socially or competitively.

Leicester Tigers Foundation, “When we were Tigers” Monument located at Leicester Tigers Stadium, Welford Road Plaza, is to be formally unveiled by Peter Wheeler, DL on 11 November - Armistice Day. The unveiling will commence at 10.30am. The monument commemorates and celebrates the 54 Leicester Tigers rugby players who lost their lives as a consequence of war.

Another summer and season of cricket has flown by at Kibworth Cricket Club. We are celebrating many successes; the main highlight being the First XI winning the Leicestershire and Rutland Premier League.

The 2022 summer outdoor bowling season has been a successful one. Successes included winning the Wistow Vase - our annual local derby competition against Hart of Fleckney Bowls Club, and the Springer Cup where we beat Little Bowden in the final. We also won Division 3 of the South Leicestershire Triples League and have been promoted to Division 2 for the start of next year.
