Last month we paid tribute to our longest serving volunteers, Jean and Charlie McCann. 

Some years ago I visited the Victoria & Albert museum in London with my brother Neil. He was there in his capacity as archivist for the Philips family. They reside at ‘The Heath House,’ Team in Staffordshire. The aim of the visit was to research certain facets of Victorian décor.

Hello Everyone! Over the coming months I will be writing articles to you from YOUR local Fire Station here at Kibworth Fire and Rescue Station. I will be giving an update on recent incidents, providing information about how your local station operates, introducing you to the crew as well as providing community safety information and opportunities.

During the lockdown the coaches of the Under 10s at Kibworth Football Club wanted to do something to help the boys  stay active, and do something  positive for a couple of local  charities, (Rainbows and LOROS), through this difficult time for them.

Psychologically an anchor is a link we  make between a mental and emotional state  and something we can bring under our control, such as a physical movement, a place  or an object. We make associations con tinually, usually automatically, and they might be positive or negative: the point of  anchoring is to ‘fix’ a positive reaction and  to bring out those pleasant thoughts and  feelings whenever we want.  

No tribute to Bryan Porteous can cover all the community initiatives which gained from his input. He was a very compassionate man who actively supported a great many clubs and charities.

For many years wild birds have frequented my garden, from the tiny delicate Jenny Wren to the majestic predatory Kestrel, I always enjoy watching them feed and squabble amongst themselves.
