After the Autumn Marathon and Half Marathon season we’ve had a much quieter month for races and events. It’s now time for the mud lovers to get involved with the Derby Runner Cross Country League underway.

The Kibworth tip closed on 1 November.  I requested that an alternative site be made available to cover the 12 months that the Kibworth site is being modernised. The two nearest are Oadby and Harborough but both were closed Thursdays and Fridays.

The parish council held its monthly public meeting on Thursday 4 November in the Studio at the Kibworth Grammar School Hall.

East Langton Parish Council feel very honoured to have been chosen by Leicester University to be one of one hundred war memorials they have been visiting since 2018. This was on their ‘Poppy Pilgrimage’ in commemoration of 100 years since the founding of the University.

On Thursday 18 November, Kibworth Grammar School Hall Trustees and executors of Betty Ward's estate came together to celebrate & raise a glass in her name.

A team of crafty volunteers have been involved in a unique charity appeal. They are creating the ‘Harborough Crochet Christmas Tree’ from hundreds of crocheted ‘granny squares’ made by local people.

To mark Remembrance Day this year, the History department of Kibworth Mead Academy decided to create a display dedicated to the fallen soldiers from the village (photo below). The work of the Kibworth History Society (http://www.kibworth.org) proved invaluable in doing this.
