Friends of Kibworth Theatre Company

The Kibworth Theatre Company is your local theatre group and a registered charity. We are a jolly gang of local people, who work hard with the talent we have, to bring great productions to the village. Once lockdown has been lifted finally, we will be working full tilt towards one of our next productions, ‘ The Vicar of Dibley’, which is due for performance next year. We’re also exploring other productions for the Christmas season. Watch this space for more information.

Miss Marjorie Wise

Well known Leicester ballet mistress and choreographer, Miss Marjorie Wise (Marjorie Holyoake) has died peacefully at home in Kibworth, aged 91 years. She was the original principal of the Marjorie Wise School of Dancing. Miss Wise was also choreographer and ballet mistress for many local Operatic Societies, including The Leicester Amateur Operatic Society, KRR Operatic Society and the IDOLS to name a few.

For the last few terms, our Rainbow group has been meeting on Zoom. Fingers crossed, after two more weeks on Zoom we will be finally meeting Face to Face. Rainbows are all about having fun and trying out new things. We play games, do activities, challenges and earn lots of badges. Rainbows is a great place to make lots of new friends and to build your confidence with girls the same age (5-7).

South Leicestershire Medical Group (SLMG)

As of Saturday 10 April, SLMG will have completed over 10,000 COVID-19 vaccinations to our patient population. All COVID-19 vaccinations currently take place at Kibworth Medical Centre (KMC) on Smeeton Road. As per NHS England specifications, practices that belong to our Primary Care Network (PCN) also have to provide their Pfizer vaccinations from KMC. This is because the Pfizer vaccine cannot be moved from site-to-site. It is also because the vaccine needs to be utilised within four days from delivery. Therefore, Billesdon Surgery and The Croft Medical Centre in Oadby use KMC on a regular basis to vaccinate their patients.

Services to resume at St Wilfrid's Church, Kibworth

St Wilfrid's plan to resume services in church from Sunday 9 May. Services will start at 10.30am and numbers will be limited, to maintain social distancing. Your details will be taken for Track & Trace and Covid-safe measures
