Thank you for everyone’s support regarding the start of Kibworth’s two new youth singing groups. The buzz this has caused has been really exciting. We’re all so proud to see the singers waiting eagerly to get started at the beginning of rehearsals!

We are happy to once again offer a full schedule of services at our three churches; Kibworth, Saddington and Smeeton Westerby. You can find a service to suit your needs from Traditional Communion and Modern Worship through to our fun 'express' service for young families on the first Sunday of the month. 

On Thursday 4 November Kibworth CE Primary School is hosting Virtual Live Open Sessions at 4pm and 6pm for new starters for the Early Years Foundation Stage for 2022.

‘I have found it’ (translation from Greek). Of course in people's minds this moment will vary, fill a gap and take differing forms and experiences. Part of the old St Paul's Cathedral in London collapsed in 1580; Why? History buffs take note! London experienced a great earthquake. Some, at the time thought it was divine displeasure. A song was composed titled ‘Awake, Awake, sweet England’. It has survived for over 400 years. It is still sung in 2021 to the tune- familiar to many- the carol ‘God rest ye merry gentlemen’.

Well, you may be thinking, I have never seen that title in the Chronicle before. YoYou would be right, for both Great Glen’s Main Street and Kibworth’s Theatre Companies are amalgamating for their next show. So why is this you may be asking yourselves? The reason is that MSTC rehearse and practice in Great Glen Village Hall but this building is soon to be pulled down and rebuilt into a new community hub. The proposed building will house a brand new larger hall, the parish council offices and other community rooms. However, with the work planned to begin at the end of October or beginning of November, the drama society will have no base to rehearse and perform. So when a proposal was made to join with Kibworth, it seemed the perfect solution.

The Kibworth Cricket Club 2021 season came to a close with the 1st XI adding the Premier League title to the County Cup. Double winners for the season, we celebrated in style and apologies to anyone witnessing players still in whites in the early hours on a Sunday morning!
