Work has resumed after a fortnight’s break over Christmas and the New Year.

Mowsley residents were thrilled this year to be able to visit the decorated Advent Windows throughout the village. The variety of creative ideas on show was amazing and all were deserving of the rounds of applause given.

With the shortest day behind us it almost feels like the worst of winter is behind us too.

We always like the start of the year. It means we can start our countdown to the new season. Lots of things are happening to get things ready for our new cricket season.

Following the Christmas break, classes and events at the Hall are starting up again.

Listen very carefully; I will say this only once.

During December we ran a Christmas hat/outfit competition for the children who attend the weekly coaching sessions. There was a great response, particularly from the younger children.

It’s been quite a run for me. My first fitness class was in 1994, I finally closed the doors for good in October last year. The support for my classes has been overwhelming these past 27 years. This was especially during times when I’ve had to stop and start due to an on-going bowel disease. Mainly I could carry on as normal but there were several times I needed surgery and the support from my 70-strong regular ladies was always amazing.
