The Schools Prayer Network (SPN) began when Michael Philip, a peripatetic music teacher, saw the power of prayer in school first hand. After experiencing vandalism at a school, one of the children in the Christian Union decided to pray about it. The vandalism stopped almost straight away. Michael felt that if prayer had this effect in one school, it could have similar effects in other schools. 

It has been an action packed term of sport at Kibworth Mead Academy. Mr Hill settled in as the new Head of PE, a virtually all new PE department inspired a new dawn of sporting success and participation.

As with all Independent Schools, Leicester High School for Girls is inspected by the Independent Schools’ Inspectorate, rather than by OFSTED. Our Inspection took place in November 2022 and I am both thrilled and proud to share our results.

I understand that, especially given current pressures, the cost of funding independent education may seem out of reach for many parents. However, many independent schools, including LHS, provide funding support for potential families which can help to bridge the gap. Last year alone, ISC independent schools provided £464 million in means-tested bursaries and scholarships, demonstrating schools’ commitment to helping children of all backgrounds thrive during their time in education.

It’s been a busy Autumn half term for Kibworth Mead Academy. All year groups have risen to the challenge of our high expectations of working hard, being kind and being proud.

“I am delighted to have taken on the role of Principal of Kibworth Mead Academy this autumn. I am very keen to get to know our wider Kibworth community, as well as parents and carers. 

Now that the rush of the Open Morning is over, we are looking ahead to the next steps for those families who are considering joining us next September. The next step for many will be to attend a Taster Day with us.
