The parish council returned to a normal face to face meeting, albeit with social distancing. The meeting was held in the Studio at Kibworth Grammar School Hall, at 7pm on 3 June. 

The County Council is working closely with local bus operators to come up with bold plans to improve public transport; and to encourage more people to use it.

The County Council has launched a consultation to capture views on three suggested options for school term and holiday dates. The proposals cover term dates running for five years from autumn 2022 to summer 2027. The options are:

Kibworth & District Chronicle is delivered to many villages which are in the four divisions of Harborough District Council: Bruntingthorpe; Gartree; Market Harborough East; and Market Harborough West & Foxton. Here are the candidates who are standing on Thursday 6 May.

The government has decided not to extend the legislation that has permitted virtual council meetings after 6 May; in our case using Zoom.  Our annual meeting to elect the chairman, vice-chairman and representatives would normally be held on 25 May. However we have movewd this meeting to Tuesday 4 May. This is because of the uncertainty about holding face to face public meetings in a safe environment.  The agenda and Zoom joining instructions will be published on our website and the notice board on High Street.

The latest Zoom meeting was on 1 April, we welcomed DCllr Whelband, and Jane Tallett, who was approved for co-option.

The positive covid-19 case number rates per 100,000 daily for the Kibworth and Great Glen Middle layer Super Output Area (MSOA) have levelled out at around 100. This is higher than the average for England but lower than Leicester.

The latest virtual meeting using Zoom was held on Thursday 4 March. We welcomed DCllr Whelband and a resident who is considering co-option.

We held our public Zoom meeting on 23 February and were pleased to welcome four members of the public.

No tribute to Bryan Porteous can cover all the community initiatives which gained from his input. He was a very compassionate man who actively supported a great many clubs and charities.
