Rotary Bonfire

Traditional: (Above) David and Martin recently invited the ladies of Kibworth and Smeeton WI to their home, Kibworth Hall for an afternoon of traditional carol singing with prosecco and mince pies. A fabulous time was had by all.

Now this is a short one! Our contributors have been so busy that we received a record number of articles this month thus no room! No room to thank sincerely the wider Kibworth & District Chronicle team: contributors, editorial, advertising, printing, lay up, online, distribution and readers “Who have I missed out?” (A line you never want to hear Santa say) But what he does say as he eats yet another mince pie is,  “Have a very merry Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year.” Cheers!

It has been an action packed term of sport at Kibworth Mead Academy. Mr Hill settled in as the new Head of PE, a virtually all new PE department inspired a new dawn of sporting success and participation.

The Tur Langton Parish Council Meeting took place on Tuesday 8 November in the village hall, Tur Langton.

Interesting to see upwards of 50 horses with riders in full hunting attire and a smaller number of tail-wagging beagles processing along Smeeton Westerby High Street on the morning of Saturday 26 November. A rural spectacle?

KGSH are sad to announce that at the last trustees meeting, Paul Scourfield said that he was stepping down as a trustee.

There were 60 individually decorated trees. Those who visited the church voted for their favourite tree in Adult and Children's section. The winning Adult tree was made by Anne Bloor from Burton Overy and Natalia, from Ukraine.

Rehearsals for our March Production of ‘A Bunch of Amateurs’ have begun in earnest, with a lot of work being done on the script and characterisation. Director Alison Langrick is very pleased with the progress that we are making and this is already looking as if it will be a very entertaining production. Certainly, if it causes as many laughs as the rehearsals are doing, then the audiences will be in for a very good time.
