Foxton Primary School is delighted to announce the opening of its brand-new water play and loose parts area. This is a dynamic addition to its already stunning outdoor grounds, designed to inspire creativity, teamwork, and hands-on learning. This innovative playscape, part-funded by the East Midlands Railway Community Fund, promises to transform playtime into an enriching educational experience. The newly constructed area incorporates a water pump, channels, and loose parts. It reflects the historical and geographical significance of the nearby Foxton Locks and canal system. Through this interactive environment, children will engage in imaginative play. Meanwhile they will learn about water flow and the rich history of their local community.

After Harborough Town’s FA Cup victory vs Tonbridge, Leonard, a Kibworth Primary School pupil, declared that, “I’m going to get a ‘pick in the box’ at school for really good reading.” A ‘pick in the box’ is a box of treats pupils at Leonard’s school are rewarded with  for very good work. Leonard continued, “I’m going to pick a trophy and give it to the Harborough Town keeper at the Reading match, to say well done for doing really well.” True to Leonard’s word, a few days later he returned home with the trophy he’d selected, which he’d earned for very good reading. 

At Kibworth Mead Academy we want our young people to develop into well-rounded citizens who are able to make a difference in their community. As part of our emphasis on developing students holistically, we place strong emphasis on the extra-curricular opportunities on offer.

Kibworth Mead Academy students have come back from the summer holidays with a really positive attitude. They have collectively achieved over 68,000 reward points for demonstrating our values of work hard, be kind and be proud. Which bodes really well for the school year.

The summer holiday has been busy at KMA! Thanks to a huge capital investment from The Mead Educational Trust, a massive amount of building work has been successfully completed over the summer. This has included the refurbishment of two state of the art science laboratories, our Year 7 refectory, and the main student entrance.

Kibworth CE Primary School has achieved a significant milestone by being awarded the Platinum School Games Award, the highest recognition in the School Games Mark scheme. 

Foxton Primary School has been awarded the SuperKind Social Impact Schools Award for the East Midlands region.

As part of the National Garden Scheme the wonderful Hammond Arboretum, within the grounds of the Robert Smythe Academy, will be open on Sunday 6 October between 2 and 4:30 pm.

Leicester High School for Girls raised £890 for the Kibworth based, Leicestershire Wildlife Hospital at its Junior Summer Fair, a well-attended event that brought together students, families, and members of the community.
