Foxton Primary School has been awarded the SuperKind Social Impact Schools Award for the East Midlands region.

As part of the National Garden Scheme the wonderful Hammond Arboretum, within the grounds of the Robert Smythe Academy, will be open on Sunday 6 October between 2 and 4:30 pm.

Leicester High School for Girls raised £890 for the Kibworth based, Leicestershire Wildlife Hospital at its Junior Summer Fair, a well-attended event that brought together students, families, and members of the community.

The summer term has been as busy and productive as ever at KMA. Our Year 11 have impressed us with their positive attitude and determination throughout the exam season, which is now coming to an end.

We are always proud of our sports teams, but this half term has had some exceptional performances, with both the Year 7 girls and Year 8 boys winning the County cup in thrilling finals at Seagrave, Leicester City’s training ground. 

Our school has always strived to offer a high-quality education for all our pupils; with this in mind, we believe it would be fantastic to be able to extend our offer to younger pupils and offer an onsite preschool that is fully integrated with our primary school.

For over 30 Years my wife and I have been part of a group of UK individuals providing support to disadvantaged individuals in Uganda. Initially, we were involved with a charity (Friends of ACET Uganda) which provided AIDS/HIV Care, Education and Training. Subsequently becoming involved in rebuilding and supporting this school in a slum area of the capital, Kampala.

The Year Four team are incredibly proud of all the children, who worked extremely hard both on and off stage. In just a few weeks, they managed to produce an amazing show and dazzle the audience at three packed out showings.

Leicester High School for Girls proudly celebrated International Women's Day last week with an event showcasing the diverse achievements of women across various fields. Year 9 to Year 13 students were treated to an array of guest speakers who shared their experiences and insights, inspiring the next generation of female leaders.
