Meditation in Kibworth

When we are feeling stressed and worried, it is difficult to relax. Yet when we have a calm and peaceful mind, we can deal much better with life’s difficulties. A short course on how to meditate began on Wednesday 17 April in Kibworth Village Hall where Kadam Chris Heyes, Resident Teacher at Nagarjuna Kadampa Meditation Centre in Leicester, explained the benefits of meditation and how to meet the challenges of daily life.

Kibworth Harcourt Post Mill Open Weekend

Members of the public will have a rare opportunity to visit the oldest mill in Leicestershire. It opens on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 May as part of National Mills Weekend. Volunteers will show people around inside and outside the mill, showing the inner workings and marks left by the millers over the last 400 years.

presents at Kibworth Community Hub (formerly Kibworth Grammar School Hall) on Saturday 27 April from 7.30pm the experienced four-piece fun band ‘The Smiler’ consisting of four locals. The lead guitarist is from Foxton and plays tennis at the club. They will be playing classics and anthems from the 60s onwards. Music definitely to make you smile!

Easter tide, but why is the title of this seminal festival unrelated to the event which is commemorated? Answer: Christianity was very adept at poaching titles from pagan sources. Eastre was a heathen goddess whose festival was in spring, hence the bunnies and eggs, not the stone being rolled away and a time when millions around the world meet on this day – Easterday. Easter time lasts till Whitsun (50 days).
