As April showers have extended into the summer months, the re-opening of The Well Café and Shop has been as varied as the weather! People have gradually braved it out again to try our freshly baked cakes. They have also enjoyed the influx of second-hand clothing, and to reacquaint themselves with our ‘Warm, Well Welcome.’

The tennis governing body, the LTA, are running a great initiative. Young children can sign up for a discounted 6 week tennis coaching course, and they also receive a free tennis racket, balls and a shirt. It is a fun course introducing children to Mini Tennis, and we hope they want to carry on playing! 16 children signed up for these courses at the club. The photo shows some of the children from one of the courses. We would like to introduce more children aged between 4 and 8 to Mini Tennis, so we will be running more of these courses during the Summer Holidays.

Local people facing end of life or bereavement can now turn to online support. This is thanks to a new website launched to coincide with Dying Matters Week (10-16 May 2021).

Bridge 67 Butchers opened its doors on the 5th November 2020 just as we went into lockdown for the second time. Situated on the High Street in Kibworth, the butchers’ shop offers a fantastic range of quality products with the main emphasis on local, British products.

In August The Beauty Room will have been on the High Street for 16 years. We are thrilled to be opening our doors again following the recent lockdown. Liz Ives, the owner, can’t thank all of her loyal clients enough for their wonderful support over the last year.

We are delighted to report that three of our club members took part in a physical event for the first time in over a year. Bernie Owen, Abby Davies and Alan Gibson all represented the Market Harborough team in the Battle of Brampton Valley Way on Sunday 18th April.

From the front it’s hard to see what lies behind our doors because we’re not a usual kind of shop. Having no window display could be seen as a hindrance for many retail businesses. However, once people step through the door, they can really appreciate our quirky barn. Our unique barn allows plenty of room to browse safely. We're pleased your reactions say it all. We’re so happy we decided to revamp and reconfigure our shop ahead of re-opening.

The 17 May saw the return of classes to the Hall. After so long it is good to see activity again, even if only on a small scale.  Next moth we will see the return of larger gatherings. It has been strange not to see our regular users for a year but hopefully the lockdown and vaccinations will help us return to normality (and better weather.) We are looking forward to a busier summer with the WI, U3A, theatre groups, children’s parties and wedding parties all making use of our village space.

Driving along Main Street Tur Langton over the last year you may have spotted that Tur Langton Village Hall has emerged from the undergrowth and had a facelift.
