The parish council held its monthly public meeting on 23 November in the Studio at the Kibworth Grammar School Hall.

Local Smeeton Westerby resident Bob Capell had an idea before the first locked down to collect old car batteries to weigh them in for cash for GEMS Charity. Eighteen months later this came to fruition. Andy from GEMS and Bob packed up Bob’s truck and went to a scrap metal dealer in Market Harborough unloaded. They unloaded the truck and were presented with a check for £328.48, what a fantastic amount well done and thanks Bob.

It is the time of year when miracles are at the top, or near top, of people’s minds. A miracle is something that happens, which as yet, cannot be explained in a convincing way. Over 100years ago people rushed into the streets when a plane flew over - the miracle of flight! There is a daily miracle close to home, on our doorstep; the men and women who choose to spend their lives working in the Health Services. Their lives are devoted to ensuring recuperation, the relief of pain and the return to full health of their fellow human beings. Further study is required throughout their careers, whatever speciality is chosen.  Why do these men and women choose this demanding career? Many, not all, are from a home or school with religious values that motivate them to carry their beliefs into their work. Without their decision and subsequent contribution, our health service would be drastically short of much needed staff.

Our latest Kibworth Windmill Update for December.

Well we have finally arrived at the last month of the year, December. The hours of sunlight are slowly ebbing to their minimum per day. Soon, hopefully, we shall be all celebrating the forthcoming festive season. After months of keeping ourselves from each other, we are, at last, starting to gather together. In groups to sing, to shop, to be entertained and to enjoy this new freedom.

At Kibworth Creatives Choir we have been busy practising for our very first public performance at the Kibworth Late Night Shopping event. What a terrific turnout!
