A New Year Message

Directing this play has been a joy. So far, we have been learning lines and creating an understanding of the plot and characters within the warmth and comfort of our home. Each taking a turn at hosting the cast and offering refreshments. Joyous? Why? You may ask. Because as of January the players will be returning to the KGSH venue. We will begin the arduous part of producing a play and creating a performance for our audiences at the end of March.

Acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine has understood the power of the seasons for at least two thousand years. As a Five Element acupuncturist such understanding is a fascinating part of my job. Understanding the influence of the season, the body constitution and how to harmonise the body and mind is key.

As the current Captains approach their last few weeks of office, the Vice Captains are preparing for the Captains Drive-in. This takes place on Sunday 12th February.

After the Christmas lull, the Hall is gearing up for a busy spring.

Our final meeting of the year was on Thursday 1st December. In the middle of the MU International No More 1 in 3 Awareness Campaign for ending all forms of the abuse against women and girls. This Campaign ran from the 25th November to 10th December. The last day coinciding with the International Day of Human Rights. During the Campaign, daily prayer vigils were said at midday. Posters were placed around the village and church raising the profile of those who are exposed to these horrors urging us all to be vigilant and speak out for those in danger. During the meeting we were able to collect £40.00 for charities combating Gender Based Violence.
