We welcomed Jill Vickers to our September meeting to talk to us about ‘Sausage Making with Bridge 67 Butchers’. Jill and her husband John opened their shop in the centre of Kibworth in 2020. Its name derives from one of the canal bridges situated on their farmland. Bridge 67’s beef and lamb comes from their farm in Smeeton Westerby, where the Debdale valley provides excellent grazing.

Changes. Since Kibworth joined its new, larger, ‘Circuit’ of Methodist Churches last September several changes have taken place. Rev. Andy Murphy remains the minister of this church, but we now enjoy a larger range of ministers and local preachers leading our services. This month, alone, our six services will be led by six different individuals! “Why?” someone said. “Why not?” I say. Is it not worth listening to different people interpreting the Gospel and choosing different ways to worship our God?

Leicestershire County Council has once again teamed up with the Woodland Trust to offer free tree and hedgerow packs. Designed to help renew and restore existing woodland and vegetation, as well as replacing trees which have been affected by diseases such as ash dieback.

The Scouts & Guides HQ has been home the Kibworth Scouts and Guides for 50 years. Each week hundreds of young people take part in activities and pass through the door of the HQ. A number of fitness classes, baby groups, sports groups and more, use our building too.
