I have lived in Kibworth for eight years with my wife Nicola and been a parish councillor for the last two. We have two young boys, one in Year 1 and one due to start in 18 months, and I feel extremely lucky to be able to bring them up here.

Kibworth Village Hall Committee is mourning the loss Trudy Lakin, one of our committee members, who unfortunately passed away just before Christmas. Trudy was active up until the very end, and despite being extremely ill she still found time to think of others and to contribute to our committee meeting just days before she passed away.

Why do so few people seem to realise the seriousness of our situation regarding the climate and our way of life? It is so good that the majority of us are making changes but scientists and others are telling us that it’s not fast enough.

Our December fun began when David and Martin invited us to Kibworth Hall for an afternoon of carols. Between singing along with us, they served us Prosecco and warm mince pies and we thank them for making us so welcome in their beautiful home.
