Why not join the happy bunch of people that make up the Oadby Hillwalking Club on one of our many walks? A great way to keep fit, see beautiful countryside and make new friends. Our Club attracts all ages, whether studying, working or retired.

Kibworth & District u3a is part of a national network of retired and semi-retired people. For those who want to maintain an active physical and mental lifestyle. Through lifelong learning, socialising and having an enjoyable time.

Kibworth Creatives Choir are now well under way with our rehearsals for our upcoming debut performance in December (details to be confirmed in the next issue!) and are very excited to announce that we will be merging the Crochet and Quavers choir into one big mega choir for all children and teens aged 8-16!

Prior to lockdown our meetings were held in Kilby School Hall. Following lockdown the Committee reluctantly agreed we must seek a new venue and conceded there was nowhere in Kilby. To get the members together again, we organised an afternoon tea party at the Fleckney Band Hall. We all sat out on a glorious August afternoon and had a wonderful time. We realised what a superb location it would be, so we are now holding our meetings there on the third Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm.

The Kibworth Coyotes helped light up the streets of Leicester by taking part in the Shine Night Walk in October to raise funds for Cancer Research UK. Passing all the local landmarks en route, the team-mates, who all play for the village rounders squad, collectively raised over £1,000 for this worthy cause.

The gates opened at 5.30pm on Saturday and two and a half thousand people arrived at the event. The Scouts and Guides made guys for the bonfire that roared in the stiff breeze at 6.15pm.

You may wonder how anyone could talk about pumpkins for an hour, let alone make it entertaining and enjoyable. We soon found out when Russell Atwood, known as The Pumpkin Man, told us all about them. We learned how to prepare the ground and grow them and, more importantly, how to use them.

Members of Kibworth Art Lovers renewed their activities in September with an exhibition which displayed their irrepressible joy of painting. Hosted at a venue in the heart of the village, an exciting exhibition with more than fifty impressive paintings. The variety of styles & media showcased the extensive artistic talent in and around Kibworth.
