Kibworth Town FC Juniors
As the football season draws to a close it’s time to reflect on another bumper year at Birds Barn and pick out some highlights, including three appearances in cup finals for our teams.
Under 10s
Our boys under 10 Falcons led the charge, battling through to their cup final and bringing the silverware back to Kibworth… Well done lads!
Under 14s
Next up were the boys under 14 Swifts whose cup run included an unforgettable semi-final victory against Stoneygate Lions; their cup final against Aylestone Park proved to be a step too far but under the inspirational leadership of management team of Jez Weatherill and James Grant are sure to return stronger next season.
Under 13s
Finally, the boys under 13 Kickers performed heroically to reach their respective cup final too, before eventually being pipped to the post in an enthralling game. It’s fabulous for everyone involved with the club to see our teams performing so well and gives us all inspiration to write our own chapters in the history of Kibworth Town.
Girls’ teams
Ours girls’ teams continue to grow and grow. A special mention must go to coach Kelsey Leverton whose energy and enthusiasm created some truly special memories for the under 11s and 12s, including coaching sessions from Leicester City ladies and a trip to St. George’s Park, home of the Football Association, for the nationwide “Having a Ball” tournament.
Under 16s
The under 16s continue to be competitive – a well deserved victory over local rivals Harborough Town is always worth a mention.
Presentation evening coming soon
Next up is our famous end-of-season presentation evening, after which we’ll put our feet up for a few weeks before plotting how to do it bigger and better next year.
