Scouts & Guides HQ - 50 Years

The Scouts & Guides HQ has been home the Kibworth Scouts and Guides for 50 years. Each week hundreds of young people take part in activities and pass through the door of the HQ. A number of fitness classes, baby groups, sports groups and more, use our building too.

Kibworth & Smeeton WI - October 2023

We welcomed Jill Vickers to our September meeting to talk to us about ‘Sausage Making with Bridge 67 Butchers. Jill and her husband John opened their shop in the centre of Kibworth in 2020. Its name derives from one of the canal bridges situated on their farmland. Bridge 67’s beef and lamb comes from their farm in Smeeton Westerby, where the Debdale valley provides excellent grazing.

Jack Perbedy

It is with great sadness that The Kibworth Band announce the death, just short of his 101st birthday of their President Jack Perbedy. As we wrote in the Chronicle this time last year as he celebrated his 100th birthday, Jack was a Kibworth lad who never forgot his roots. In gratitude and appreciation of his musical start with the Kibworth  Band, where he rose from player to conductor in a short period of time, he became a lifelong supporter of Kibworth and many other local bands.
