The club have achieved a lot in the past month, making the most of better weather and lighter evenings. We were proud to support our group of Couch to 5K runners in their final runs; some ‘graduated’ at Market Harborough Parkrun, others completed in their own time. We are pleased to have welcomed several new members to the club following the programme.

Following a very successful outdoor season, Kibworth Bowls Club has been well represented during the full-rink indoor season at Harborough Leisure Centre. In the Monday ‘outdoor clubs playing indoors’ triples league (12 teams), our two teams finished second and third. A similar, Tuesday league saw good results for three other Kibworth teams. The Harborough internal leagues saw Malcolm Moss, Richard Bateman and past-member Malcolm Johnson top the Wednesday Aussie Pairs league. Whilst Chris Hunt, Gill Beresford (and friends from Little Bowden) won the Friday triples league.

It is that time of year again when cricket begins – if this rain ever stops and the outfield dries. After wintering well the players and members cannot wait to get started at KCC.

With winter well and truly behind us an avid walker of the course completed her seasonal collection of photographs of a single conifer tree on the course throughout the year. It makes you realise how changes are hard to notice over a long period of time and are not as subtle as you may think.

Our March meeting was led by professional artist Maxine Dodd who lives and works in Church Langton. She is known primarily for her award-winning images of cyclists, in ink and watercolour. She also has experience of using a wide variety of media.

All are welcome to join our Club, especially beginners and juniors, as two 5-week Coaching Courses are planned for the spring and summer. Level 2 Coach, Andy Wright, assisted by Level 1 Coach, Miriam Wohl, will be running sessions on five tables.

Last month Eddie Smallwood fascinated us with ‘Every Picture Tells a Story’. Explaining that many artists fill their paintings with intricate details and symbolism.

Kibworth and District u3a is an organisation that that facilitates interest groups and social events for people that are no longer in full-time work.

Kibworth Bowling Club members have enjoyed indoor carpet bowls over the winter months. Roll-ups on Monday afternoons and evenings have been well attended. Social occasions, and several club competitions have taken place.
