Remembrance Sunday and Remembrance Day 2020 were marked in a different way this year. This was due to the nationwide Covid virus restrictions in place.

Life can sometimes throw a spanner in the works. My spanner was me and my family testing positive for Covid-19. Hearing about the virus on the news could never prepare me for the last few weeks when I have experienced it first-hand. From what I have learnt, there are four ways people can feel the effects of Covid-19. Nothing, Minor, Serious or Fatal.

So, we’ve been open for barely two months  and we’re closed again for lockdown 2.0! It couldn’t come at a worse time for retailers. Especially for those of us in our first year of trading and unable to access any form of government support. But keeping everyone safe is the priority. So closure of our little shop at Pennbury Farm in Great Glen has prompted us to launch our online shop sooner than planned and it’s now live! 

 Before Lockdown

The Kibworth & District Chronicle is very sad to report that Isobel Cullum, for over 30 years a dedicated member of the Chronicle team, passed away on 27 October, aged 71.

 The council Zoom meeting was at 7pm on 5 November; there were no members of the public present.

We were looking into the possibility of having socially distanced band rehearsals. Unfortunately the current lockdown restrictions effectively put paid to these plans.
