Illston on the Hill WI is back again! We are holding our Christmas Fayre on Saturday 26 November, 10am–1pm in the Village Hall. There will be crafts, gifts, cakes, cards, plants, cosmetics, jewellery, tombola, ‘loved again’ and our Master Bee Keeper.

The Kibworth Art Lovers Society began its new season with an enjoyable and inspiring visit from Market Harborough artist, Marion Holden. Marion trained in textiles and has been a teacher and lecturer of the arts throughout her working life.

The Trustees of the Kibworth Grammar School Hall are delighted to announce that the plans for the redevelopment of the hall and the incorporation of the library have been approved. Phase one of the project has now been completed. Phase two, raising the actual funds for the project, is just beginning. We look forward to updating the Kibworth and District Chronicle readers as to how this exciting project is progressing in the coming weeks and months. In the meantime, we would like to offer our thanks to Nortoft Planning, who have helped us get this far and with whom we look forward to working alongside.

In 2022 we launched a Women’s Softball side and, after nearly 20 years, have relaunched a Junior side. Our 1st XI were in contention for promotion for most of the year, our 2nd XI and Midweek/Friendly sides saw a good number of youngsters take their first steps into the game. Overall 94 people played some sort of Hardball Cricket and another 29 people played some sort of Softball/Junior Cricket

A lively social evening took place in the clubhouse on Friday 9 September when over 90 people danced to the music of ‘Dad’s Armony’ and enjoyed a light supper provided by our female members.

We are pleased to announce the details of our 10th Anniversary concert. It is being held at St James the Greater Church, 216 London Road, LE2 1NE on Saturday 29 October. Our special guests will be the Leicestershire Police Christian Gospel Choir. There will be refreshments, but please note that it will be a cash only bar. The proceeds will go to the COPS (Care of Police Survivors) and GEMS charities.
