Fleckney and Kibworth Running Club
It’s been a great start to 2023 for F&K. There’s been plenty of runners attending our Club Nights, including our couch to 5K, as well as some members taking part in the third race of the Derby Runner Cross Country league.
We now have two more XC Events to go, as we begin to approach the Road Running League races.
Martinshaw Woods XC
On Sunday 15 January some of our runners took part in the 1st Cross Country league race of the year (3rd race of the season), at Martinshaw Woods in Groby. A challenging 5.7 mile course, with some impressive times recorded.
1st home for the club was Mike Higgins with a time of 47:32.
Next was Ivor McDonnell (56:58),
Jude Hughes (1:06:40), Emma Boyd (1:06:51) and Steve West (1:10:28). Well done to everyone who took part!
Couch to 5K
Our Couch to 5K has also made a good start, with plenty of new runners joining our free programme in January. For anyone interested in giving it a go please contact the club using the details below. It’s a great way to improve fitness and a great introduction to running.
