My personal DofE expedition experience was an emotional rollercoaster with quite literally ups and downs. We began our day bright and early meeting our assigned team leaders at our starting point. They gave us our maps, compass, emergency phone and our mission to create a playlist to represent our expedition.

It’s been a great start to 2023 for F&K. There’s been plenty of runners attending our Club Nights, including our couch to 5K, as well as some members taking part in the third race of the Derby Runner Cross Country league.
We now have two more XC Events to go, as we begin to approach the Road Running League races.
I mislaid my mobile phone the other day. As I had switched it off, while in a meeting, I could not ring it on the landline to trace it. I gave up looking and went out to do some gardening. The day was fine after an early frost, and forking away, I felt invigorated and pleased with myself. Back indoors, later, for a coffee I listened to Radio 4 and caught one of my favourite programmes , “Just One Thing,” presented by Dr Michael Moseley. His latest offer for our consideration was entitled ‘Put your phone down.’ How apt and how informative.

Netflix provides a wide variety of entertaining films or movies at an acceptable cost. I think we pay £5 per month. Recently, we scrolled through the choices, not knowing where to settle. Eventually, impatience took over from indecisiveness and the film -timely as it turned out -'Bank of Dave' was agreed upon. What a worthwhile choice it turned out to be, starring Rory Kinnear; Hugh Bonneville and Phoebe Dynevor. Dave Fishwick had accumulated a large sum of money running his business in Burnley. He is later persuaded to open a bank in his name in his hometown of Burnley (this is fact.)
