Dates for this summer’s Welcome Kitchen events

We are building a list of all those who have volunteered with The Kibworth & District Chronicle since it's inception in 1978.

Kings Head, Smeeton Westerby has won as overall ‘Pub of the Year’ by ‘CAMRA.’  Well done to Edd and Andrew!

Residents on the Cuckoo Drive development recently received a letter outlining a proposed  building plan for Manor Oaks Homes on Warwick Road, bordering the railway line, opposite Churchill Road / Kibworth Meadows. This would cover approximately 81 acres of green fertile land with a possible access from Wistow Road or Warwick Road. This would be a mixed scheme of approximately 550 dwellings and a space for a primary school.

Well deserved congratulations goes to Debbie James who owns and runs Kibworth Books on the High Street. She recently become President of the Independent Booksellers Association. (Second left in the picture below)

‘The Green Street’ will be at Harborough Carnival while The Farm return next day. Two dates for your diary Saturday 6 June and Sunday 7 June.

Residents of Shearsby came together over the bank holiday weekend to celebrate Easter with a creative and family-friendly village trail that drew widespread participation and praise.

As we enter the final term of this school year we are excited to continue with the planning for our upcoming events. First, the summer discos will be taking place on Thursday 21 May. We will share details on how to book nearer the date. Anyone who is able to volunteer on the night, please save the date.
