Last Sunday, 14 May, was an auspicious day when at last, Kibworth Harcourt Post Mill, a unique and outstanding historic mill, was officially reopened during National Mills Weekend by members of the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB) plus interested guests.

The Spinners’ inaugural club tournament was held in April. First place was secured by 15 year-old Dillon Kearney. Runner-up Drew Harbidge pushed all the way in a final which was well worth watching.

There’s still Last Minute Theatre’s QUIZARET! It’s a night of (very mixed) cabaret entertainment interspersed with fun quiz sections. National Mills Weekend (13-14 May) will focus this year on ‘Millwrighting – Past and Present’. This celebrates the repair of wind and watermills which allows those important historical buildings to survive for future generations to come.
