Nothing we do can make God love us more – but it can help us realise how deeply we are loved by God. We respond to God's love in Christ through the way we live our lives.
Thank you to everyone who attended our Easter services, it was wonderful to have so many people celebrating with us! If you enjoyed our services, we look forward to seeing you again soon.
In the early days of the Methodist Church, Wesley conducted his services in the Open-Air. So, when on the morning of Easter Sunday 2026 we were faced when none of our four regular musicians being present for various reasons, the congregation did not hesitate but to decide to sing all the hymns totally unaccompanied. What a joyful sound it was! The children present all received a free Easter Egg with a booklet telling the Easter Story. We once again ‘dressed’ the plain Wooden Cross with colourful flowers to celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord. The Cross being placed outside the church afterwards for all to see.
There will be a special service at St Wilfrid’s Kibworth with communion, hymns, and prayer. During this service, ashes made from palm crosses are blessed and used to make crosses on people’s foreheads to signify the repentance of sin and mortality.
Fifteen years ago or so, the Friends of St Wilfrid’s Church, purchased some low-level staging blocks for use in concerts. These staging blocks were loaned out to another organisation for their use. Alas, the Friends do not know currently where these staging blocks have ended up. We would like them back for the soon to be performed David LePage concert. If you know where they are or any other information about them, please contact Anne Flower on 07540 719 298 as soon as possible.
