Our sisters in Nigeria invite us to join them for the World Day of Prayer on Friday 6 March 2026. The service they have prepared reflects on the theme, “I will give you rest”.

In 1878 a Robert Haymes of Wistow Lane set up ‘The Haymes Trust’ in the sum of £1,800 which was to be invested in the Great Indian Peninsula Railway. The interest to be used to support a Wesleyan Methodist Missionary resident in Kibworth Beauchamp, or for other Methodist purposes mentioned in the Trust Deed.

In the last week of Rev Ludger Fremmer’s time as priest at St Wilfrid’s, Congregationalist Anne Flower organised for Salvo Brass to play a Christmas concert. Isn’t brass band music and Christmas just the perfect match?

As I retire from my role as parish priest, my family and I want to thank the people of the Kibworth Benefice for 18 years of shared life, faith and friendship.

“On that first Christmas morning, the angels were singing, the shepherds were celebrating, the wise men were still travelling and the innkeeper was making breakfast for his full house.  Meanwhile, Joseph was possibly feeling a little overwhelmed by the responsibility confronting him, and the Bible says Mary was ‘pondering’, ‘treasuring all these things in her heart’ (Luke 2:19) as she held and fed her new-born baby.

Come and celebrate with us! St Andrew’s has traditional services and events with all the trimmings. The church will be fully lit and decorated for the Christmas Tree Festival from Friday 12 December until Sunday 14 December.

Ludger’s final service at St Wilfrid’s Church took place on Advent Sunday, 30 November, when a full church had the opportunity to say farewell to him and Ruth. A shared lunch followed in the Church Hall, attended by about 100 people.
