Well we have finally arrived at the last month of the year, December. The hours of sunlight are slowly ebbing to their minimum per day. Soon, hopefully, we shall be all celebrating the forthcoming festive season. After months of keeping ourselves from each other, we are, at last, starting to gather together. In groups to sing, to shop, to be entertained and to enjoy this new freedom.

At Kibworth Creatives Choir we have been busy practising for our very first public performance at the Kibworth Late Night Shopping event. What a terrific turnout!

This week the digital back catalogue project hit a key milestone. The first 100 editions of the Kibworth Chronicle (as it was known then) have been loaded up to the web.

The Remembrance Day Service, led by Ludger Fremmer, from outside St Wilfrids Church on Sunday 14 was extremely well attended. Possibly up to a 1,000 people came together and lined the street.

It was such a momentous occasion when Illston on the Hill WI met in October for the very first proper WI meeting this year. We decided to keep it low key. So we enjoyed a very sociable evening with a ‘when we were young’ quiz. We all took a photograph of ourselves as a child. I wonder if there was a reason for all the photographs being black and white! One or two of our ladies didn’t seem to have changed much, but as I only got 3 correct (one being myself,) I think we can confirm most of us had altered – for the better of course. We also had a sales table and items were bought and sold at very minimal prices. 

Kibworth - Advent Service at 4pm by candlelight, followed by refreshments. Join us for a traditional service that begins our preparation for the celebration of the birth of Jesus.
