We have got through the winter months without too many frozen courts and no snow! There has been plenty of rain and luckily it didn’t cause us too many problems as the courts drain very well.

After our good result at the Area Contest, we have had our celebrations and are now back to reality and thinking of financing for our trip to Cheltenham in September. Kibworth resident Shellie Barron writes, I am taking part in a sponsored walk called TREK26 to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society in memory of my nan, Olive, after losing her last year to dementia. This is going to take place on Saturday 1 June in the Lake District as this was my nan’s favourite place to visit. The walk around Ullswater will consist of 26.1 miles with an elevation gain of 3,172 ft. Anyone who knows me knows I am not one to walk so this will definitely be a challenge!
