Members have been busy throughout the summer. In late June, we installed our “Afternoon Tea in the Summer Garden” yarn bombing at the library. It drew many lovely comments and was enjoyed by people of all ages. Children played with the knitted animals and some were busy counting the birds and creatures in the tree and on the benches.

Well, the summer break is over and since we last went to press back in June we have had a complete change of Government. Thursday 4 July was certainly a change for many with Members of Parliament losing their seats and many not standing in the General Election. And so it is with The Kibworth & District Chronicle.

It is with great sadness that I am writing to report the recent death of Mrs Beryl Lloyd. She was the wife of the late John Lloyd and mother to the three of us (Peter, Andrew and the late David). She had lived in Kibworth Harcourt for over 60 years and was one of the founders of the tennis club. She also taught at the village primary school for many years and was well known around the village. She always loved Kibworth and passed away with many happy memories.

Our recent farm walk at Rectory Farm, located alongside the picturesque Eyebrook Reservoir, had to be relocated to the barn due to inclement weather. However, this did not dampen our spirits as we were treated to an enlightening power-point presentation about the farm’s operations.
