Only a Few Weeks to the 2025 Blaston Show

This year's Blaston Show is fast approaching. It takes place on Sunday 29 June just outside the village of Slawston, near Market Harborough. Attracting around 5,000 visitors every year, the show has been running since 1957 – and this year, weather permitting, visitors can enjoy a flypast from a Lancaster Bomber.

GEMS Charity Golf Day & Smeeton Open Gardens

Our annual Charity Golf Day this year is Friday 22 August at Glen Gorse Golf Club, Oadby. Teams of 4, £220 per team. This will again include bacon roll, coffee on arrival, 18 holes of golf followed by a meal. Afterwards with team and individual prizes. We will also be having a raffle. So if you are able to donate a raffle prize please contact me on my email. I will be happy to collect. This year we are looking for local businesses to have an opportunity to become sponsors for the event.

Foxton Open Gardens

17th May 2025 | What's On

On Sunday 1 June from 11am - 5pm, ten private gardens in Foxton will be open to visitors. Gardens range from large to small, established to new, classic to quirky! Weather permitting there will also be a display of classic cars. Refreshments will be available in the Robert Monk village hall. Admission is £5 (children under 16 years of age free). The recent drop-in session run by the planning department of Harborough District Council held in the new library space of Kibworth Community Hub was reasonably well attended.  There were maps of the proposed areas suggested for development in the plan which is for the years to 2041. Also a number of officals were in attendance to answer questions where they could.
