Kibworth Harcourt Post Mill Open Weekend

Our mill once again opened its doors to the public over National Mills Weekend 2025. Over the two days volunteers showed 70 visitors of all ages around the mill. They explained the history and operation, whilst also highlighting the 200 examples of graffiti and apotropaic marks made by millers over the past 300 years. We were blessed with exceptionally good weather. Whilst most visitors were local, some had travelled from as far afield as South Wales to visit the oldest surviving post mill in Leicestershire.

Wistow Maze

This is a giant eight-acre Maize Maze with a fun quiz trail hidden amongst three miles of paths! It is designed in the shape of a Steam Train with high-level bridges and towers. It includes an Activity Fun yard with mini-mazes and games.

Arit Anderson in Conversation at Wistow

Bailey’s Garden Centre, Wistow, recently hosted an event in their walled garden marquee: ‘A conversation with Arit Anderson’. Arit Anderson is an award-winning garden designer who is often seen on BBC TV ‘Gardeners World’ and presenting at the prestigious Chelsea Flower Show.

Well, what a fabulous night we had at our Village Variety Show. It was full of talent, laughter and fun. After supper had been served, the show opened with Phil Lee singing ‘Bring Him Home’ from Les Misérables for which he received a standing ovation. What a great start! Next came sketches, funny poems, monologues and more wonderful singing, finishing with Phil again, this time singing ‘Nessun Dorma' which was amazing.
