Our annual Charity Golf Day this year is Friday 22 August at Glen Gorse Golf Club, Oadby. Teams of 4, £220 per team. This will again include bacon roll, coffee on arrival, 18 holes of golf followed by a meal. Afterwards with team and individual prizes. We will also be having a raffle. So if you are able to donate a raffle prize please contact me on my email. I will be happy to collect. This year we are looking for local businesses to have an opportunity to become sponsors for the event.

On Sunday 1 June from 11am - 5pm, ten private gardens in Foxton will be open to visitors. Gardens range from large to small, established to new, classic to quirky! Weather permitting there will also be a display of classic cars. Refreshments will be available in the Robert Monk village hall. Admission is £5 (children under 16 years of age free). Kibworth Village Hall 7 for 7.30pm - Tickets only £5 (cash or card)

Alex Leger will delight us with his tales of producing the BBC’s Blue Peter programme with Peter Purves, Lesley Judd and John Noakes. He describes encounters with an erupting volcano, climbing windmills, gorillas in Uganda, a life-threatening storm at sea and LuLu the baby elephant who ran amok and created, arguably, the funniest moment in Blue Peter history.

Visit art studios in Harborough and nearby villages to view paintings, jewellery, collage, sculpture and glasswork to meet and talk with the artists. This is an opportunity to view the wonderful creative work of twenty eight local artists on display.

To celebrate LMT’s Silver Anniversary, our September production will be a ‘Grand Variety Show’ (working title!). There will be a Pick and Mix of the best bits from the year 2000.

Cinema in the Langtons is showing two films. ‘Conclave’ on Friday 30 May and the 2021 film ‘The Dig’ on Tuesday 15 July. Both film nights will be held in the Langton Community Hall, Church Langton at 7.30pm. £8 on the door.

Bank Holiday MONDAY 5th MAY

The recent drop-in session run by the planning department of Harborough District Council held in the new library space of Kibworth Community Hub was reasonably well attended.  There were maps of the proposed areas suggested for development in the plan which is for the years to 2041. Also a number of officals were in attendance to answer questions where they could.

We are delighted to announce that we are now well into rehearsals for our next show which is to be one of our infamous Murder Mystery Supper Nights. This intriguing tale of mayhem and mystery is entitled ‘Murder in The Mailbox’ and is to be performed by the group in Smeeton Westerby Village Hall on Friday 13 June or Saturday 14 June at 7 for 7.30pm.
