Cinema in the Langtons presents 

After Christmas, I’d like to reflect on recent events in our village. We held a successful Christmas Fayre with lively chatter and laughter. The following Wednesday, Helen Benton, our village Pilates teacher, organised a well-attended ‘LOROS’ Coffee morning, raising another £500 for a deserving charity. This added to the £200 raised from CoCo mornings and £300 from the Christmas Fayre.

‘Hit the target’ with an unforgettable experience at the theatre - for little ones, those a bit or considerably older, for all the family or just to have some down-time by yourself!

On Sunday 15 February, 10am-4pm, visit Oak Cottage, Swadlincote, DE11 8AG. A half-acre garden set around Blackfordby’s 'hidden' listed 300-year-old thatched cottage; 3.4 acres of paddocks; front and rear gardens to explore with extensive displays of snowdrops, which include a named collection as well as hellebores throughout; a large selection of mature Magnolia trees, specimen trees, several ponds, a waterfall and a restored well.

For a fifth successive year the Leicester Comedy Festival will be at the Robert Monk Village Hall in Foxton. The event is on Friday 13 February, starting at 8pm (doors and bar open from 7.30pm). It will feature some of the best stand up comedians from the UK comedy circuit. Tickets priced £15 are for 18yrs+ only. Harborough Theatre Company is putting on a special gala performance of their next production ‘Bleak Expectations’ by Mark Evans, for the benefit of Macmillan Cancer Support Market Harborough Group, on Monday 12 January, 7.30pm.

Last Minute Theatre - So much to do and so little time - 

Leicester Comedy Festival 2026. The return of our always sold out, and always epic comedy to Funny Foxton for your laughing pleasure! 120 minutes of stand up. Age 18+. Foxton Village Hall on Friday 13 February at 8pm.

As fairy lights are starting to adorn houses, Christmas trees are being decorated and wreathes appearing on front doors, we welcome Christmas to our village and send you all the very best of the season’s greetings. Having held our Christmas Fayre and The Oddfellows Brass Band Christmas Concert, our next two celebrations will also be held in Christ Church.

Leicestershire Wildlife Hospital will be holding a Christmas table top sale on Saturday 13 December in Kibworth Village Hall, LE8 0LN. 10am to 12.45.

There is just over a week to go until we perform our concert- KLC does Rock, on Saturday 22 November! Rehearsals are going really well, and we just can't wait to open the doors to you for our matinee and evening performances.
