What's going on? When renovating The Lighthouse into Lighthouse Indian Paradise, did the painters run out of paint? The upstairs windows seemed to have been overlooked in the rush to open the premises.

As the days lengthen and spring breathes new life into the landscape, Foxton Canal Museum invites you to embark on a journey of discovery and creativity. The museum promises a diverse array of events that cater to all ages and interests. From hands-on science workshops to captivating photography exhibitions and family-friendly Easter activities.

Things are starting to pick up on the canal and at the locks, helped by an unusually mild spell of spring weather and the days getting a bit longer. The half-term weeks were a mixture of very good and very bad days, the main news being the regular flooding. ‘February fill-dyke’ became February over-fill dyke. The Canal & River Trust have been fighting the elements with excess water everywhere. Many trees are down across the canal and there is damage to towpaths.

The job of the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) is to ensure the policing needs of their communities are met as effectively as possible. They bring communities closer to the police, building confidence in the system and restoring trust.

Our Allotments will be ten years old this year and the bare field we started with is now a thriving site for flowers, vegetables, fruit and wildlife.

The South Leicestershire Medical Group in conjunction with Easy Stepz (a Health and Wellbeing training provider) will be offering a FREE training course to Community organisations and groups.

Organised by the Climate Coalition, the ‘Great Big Green Week ‘is a celebration by people all over the country.  It’s taking place this year between Saturday 8 June and Sunday 16 June. The Green Street for local organisations and charities, is returning to the Harborough Carnival on Saturday 8 June too.
