The Reverend Charles Hanmer Strudwick was a larger than life character with a much travelled past. This prominent member of the community was born in Stroud, Gloucestershire in 1866 to John Cottrell Strudwick and Catherine Hester Knight. He was ordained at Southwell Minster, Nottinghamshire in 1893. He Became a priest in 1895 and later a curate at Blyth, Nottinghamshire and at Ilkeston, Derbyshire. His calling then took him to France Lynch in Gloucestershire followed by terms of office in three parishes:

Harvest At our recent Harvest Festival, £170 was raised for Overseas Aid whilst the food items were donated for The Well, Foodbank.

Our Sunday Service is at 10.30am and Kibworth Methodist Pre-School meets in our premises throughout the week.

Join us this summer for services to suit everyone, from traditional communion to family-friendly.

This event was organised by The Friends of St Wilfrids. Cream teas, (with homemade scones to die for), real Cornish clotted cream and strawberry jam, were provided by the ladies of the church.

Cream Teas will be held in St. Peter’s Church, Church Langton by popular demand starting on Sunday 7 July to Sunday 1 September. 

Kibworth Methodist Church is part of the East Mercia Circuit of 18 Methodist Churches and Places of Worship. But how does this benefit our church or its membership?

The Friends of St Wilfrid's are hosting their next fundraising concert on Saturday 1 June at 2pm in the Church Hall, featuring the 'Tiny Capers' quartet with Lisa Millett on vocals. Incorporating a mix of traditional and modern jazz and soul, this is set to be an afternoon not to be missed! By the time you read this month’s Chronicle, we will have held our first CoCo morning in the village hall. What can that be, you might be asking? Well, it stands for ‘Coffee and Conversation’, so basically it’s a time when we are inviting you to join us for a cup of tea or coffee, naturally served with cake and biscuits, to have a friendly chat and to meet some new people.
